Lift the Ban on Local Tenant Protections

An Act enabling local options for tenant protections - H.1378 -

  • Allows municipalities to create local tenant protection laws to protect renters' right to housing

  • Enables municipalities to enact rent control measures for multi-family properties and mobile homes

  • Enables municipalities to enact just cause eviction protections, prohibiting landlords from evicting tenants without just cause (such as failure to pay rent, property damage, etc.)
